FAQS

How do I book a session?
I book newborn sessions up to 6 months in advance. Timing these sessions can be tricky because ideally, newborns should be photographed within the first 10 days of life. This ensures that they will sleep through their session and be more "pose-able." If baby decides to arrive early or late, we will reschedule the session for a date that is within the 10 day window. I highly advise contacting me at least one month in advance to ensure availability. Just use the contact form on the Inquire page or email me directly at emilytaylorphotography@outlook.com. Once I receive your request, I will confirm the date with you, and then send you a welcome packet by email that contains a contract, invoice and other important info regarding your upcoming session.
When will I receive my images?
I am committed to having a short turnaround time. Your images will be edited, uploaded, and available for download via your online gallery no later than 2 weeks from your session date or your session fee will be returned to you in full.

Why do you offer digital images instead of prints?
I want to give my clients the best images that I possibly can without charging an arm and a leg. There are many excellent places to print that are much cheaper than charging per image. I offer digital prints with full printing rights (including release form) because I want my clients to have the option of printing any image they like, wherever they like, whenever they like – even years later.
What are my payment options?
In order for me to reserve your time slot and date of choice, your session fee needs to be paid in full. I accept cash, checks, and credit/debit cards (includes a small processing fee). Your session fee is non-refundable, but can be transferred to another date should you choose to cancel your original session.

When and where do you shoot?
For the convenience of new parents, I come to you and capture images of your precious little one in the comfort of your own home. I like to get a few unstaged nursery shots as well as images of both mom and dad with baby. The first few days after bringing baby home are some of the most precious and I would be honored to document them for your family in a candid, beautiful way.
What about props?
One of the most fun things about newborn photography (besides working with precious sweethearts all day!) is all the props that can be used! I have a wood backdrop that I will bring to your home as well as baskets, blankets, and other cute props that you can choose from. However, I encourage you to gather some props of your own that we can use during the shoot to make your images unique and personal. I will also bring a few space heaters with me so that your precious little one doesn't get chilly during the shoot!
